mROB.SYSTEMS convinces in practical use
Knetzgau/Meinerzhagen. At the Lower Franconian site of Knetzgau of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland GmbH, the South Westphalian robotics integrator mR Mobile Robots has now completed a successful practical test of its autonomous cleaning robots. Over several months, two device types from the portfolio of the own brand mROB.SYSTEMS cleaned a warehouse of the beverage company, approximately 2,000 square meters in size, ensuring a consistently high level of cleanliness and a noticeable relief for the staff.
Deployed were:
- The Beetle, a powerful sweeping robot for the dry cleaning of large industrial areas,
- the Scrubber 75, a high-performance scrubber-dryer robot for large-area floor cleaning.
Challenge and Objective
“As a food company, Coca-Cola has an enormously high standard of cleaning and hygiene,” emphasizes Ralph Sauter, Project Manager Supply Chain at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland GmbH. The automation of cleaning was intended not only to ensure the quality of these hygiene standards but also to increase operational efficiency in the logistics area of the site.
Smooth Integration into Operations
Thanks to intelligent sensors, the robots navigated safely through the hall. Despite dense forklift traffic, the autonomous systems were able to perform their tasks at consistently high performance levels, documented their deployments, and significantly reduced manual effort. In this context, the Project Manager highlights the easy implementation and praises the close exchange with the integrator's service team during the test operation.
The results of the pilot project:
- Consistent cleaning quality and predictable processes
- Relief for staff for priority tasks
- Sustainability through reduced water and chemical consumption
- Future viability through scalable solutions for additional hall areas.
“With mROB.SYSTEMS, we create solutions for tasks for which there are often no capacities available in daily operations. This way, we relieve employees, save resources, and support sustainable intralogistics process optimization,” explains Roland Mastalerz, Head of Business Unit Service Robotics at mR Mobile Robots GmbH.
Outlook
Based on the positive results, Coca-Cola is considering expanding the use of robots to additional warehouse areas and integrating further automation solutions in the area of driverless transport systems.
About Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Knetzgau Site
The plant in Knetzgau, with its approximately 500 employees, is one of the largest Coca-Cola sites in Germany. On five production lines, the company fills around 564 million liters per year (as of 2024), distributed across 15 carbonated soft drinks. These include classics like Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, and Fanta, as well as special varieties like Fanta Mandarin and Coca-Cola Cherry. About 200 trucks leave the plant daily, with significant investments made in its expansion and sustainable infrastructures such as storage areas, water recycling, and climate-friendly logistics.
